We have an exciting follow-up to our recent story about the Ugandan partnership and project-based learning initiative launched by TKY educator Sara Torkelson in her sixth grade classroom at Shawnee Middle School. The story was recently featured in the Courier Journal.

Students presented their business plan to Heine Brothers owner, Mike Mays, to sell bracelets made by Ugandan schoolchildren for $5.00 each at his coffee shops. The proposal was accepted and bracelet sales will begin soon in Heine Brothers locations around town!
