Each school district has its own unique hiring needs, but it is generally true that the areas of greatest need lie in the areas listed below. To teach in one of these academic areas a candidate must have at least 30 college credit hours (exceptions may be made if the candidate has AP credit hours, a 3.0 GPA in their major, and pass in the top quartile on the Praxis II exam(s), or alternatively, win admission into University of Louisville's College of Education and Human Development's MAT program.
